Masala Dal


Toor dal -200gms
Onions – 2
Ginger – small piece
Coconut powder – 1/2 cup
Green chillies – 6
Garlic cloves -2
Tomatoes – 4
Turmeric- 1/4 tsp
Jeera -1 tsp
Curry leaves
Lemon -1
Coriander – 1/4 cup
Ghee -2tsp


Boil the dal until soft.
Make a paste of ginger and garlic and coconut.
Put a cooking pan on the stove.
Add oil and fry onion pieces, green chillies and tomatoes.
Now add dal, ginger-garlic-green chilli paste.
Add salt to taste.
Now make seasoning by adding  mustard seeds and jeera. Add the seasoning to dal Sprinkle lime juice.
Decorate with coriander leaves.
