Vegetable idli

Ingredients:

Urad dal-100 gms
Chana dal-250 gms
Cumin seeds
Hinge- a pinch
Mustard seeds-1tsp
Oil-2 tsp
Turmeric-1/4 tsp
Coconut powder-2 tsp
Green peas- 50 gms
Cabbage grated-50 gms
Methi leaves 2tsp
Green chillies-3
Coriander leaves-2tsp
Carrot grated 50 gm
Salt to taste


 

Procedure:

Soak urad dal and chana dal separately for 6 hrs and grind them to make a smooth batter. Boil carrot, cabbage and green peas and keep aside.
Heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chillies(cut into small pieces) and hing. Mix the batter in the seasoning.

Add all the vegetables, coriander methi leaves, coconut, turmeric and salt to taste and mix well.

Grease idli moulds with oil. Add the batter to the moulds. Place the idli moulds in a steamer and steam for 15 min. Serve with coconut chutney.
